about

Cole Stone-Frisina is a genre-bending and virtuosic saxophonist based in Brooklyn, New York. He hails from Atlanta, Georgia, where he was exposed to many soulful and melodic elements of jazz that remain in his playing today. He graduated from the prestigious New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in 2018, and has since garnered attention in both the New York and global music worlds. He performs multiple times per week in New York city with his own groups and as a sideman. Maintaining a full gig schedule of many different genres, Cole plays anything and everything that will widen the scope of his experience.

Since early 2020, Cole has been a close collaborator with the boundary-breaking performance artist Christeene. They have recorded a full-length album together and toured extensively across the US and Europe, performing at many world-class music venues such as The Fox Theatre (Oakland, CA), Vega (Copenhagen, Denmark), Sentrum Scene (Oslo, Norway), Gothenburg Film Studios (Gothenburg, Sweden), The Salt Shed (Chicago, IL), SXSW (Austin, TX), and Terminal 5 (NY, NY).

In addition to being an in-demand featured artist, Cole frequently leads his own bands across the city. His debut album Fish Gotta Have It was released under his own name in 2022. Since its release, Cole has steadily established himself as a NYC bandleader, playing twice a month at Manhattan's Club Groove with his own bands.
